Both help you find unclaimed property held by the states. Claimio will file the claim for you in many states and charges a fee if money is recovered. Sparrow finds it and you claim it yourself on the state’s site, which is free.
The short version: Claimio’s real strength is doing the paperwork: in 16 states it handles the claim end to end, including notarization when a state requires it, and it watches state records every night. That is worth paying for if filing is what stops you. If you are willing to fill out the state’s form yourself, Sparrow’s search is free and nobody takes a cut of what the state pays you. Sparrow also does class action claims and bill and subscription calls, which Claimio does not.

Claimio is a good product. Here is what it does better, and what Sparrow does that it does not.
Searching is free with no upfront cost, and monitoring is free during Claimio’s launch period. If Claimio recovers money for you, it charges a service fee that depends on the claim and the state, and it tells you the exact amount before you authorize the recovery. It does not publish a percentage.
One membership at $3 to $7 a month, billed annually, priced by what your claims are worth. It covers class action claims, unclaimed money search, bill negotiation calls, subscription cancellation calls and late delivery refunds. If you do not earn more than you paid, Sparrow refunds the difference.
What Claimio and Sparrow each do, and what they cost.
Claimio is a real company that used to operate as Blue Navy Recovery. It says it is backed by Techstars and USC and has helped more than 3,000 customers. Like any recovery service, it charges a fee on money it recovers, so it is worth knowing that you can also claim directly with the state for free.
Claimio does not publish a percentage. It says the fee depends on the claim and the state’s requirements, and that you see the exact amount before you authorize the recovery. Searching is free.
As of November 2026: Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Wyoming. It lists Florida, Arizona and Texas as coming soon, and offers filing guidance or referrals for other states.
Yes. You can claim directly with the state that holds the money, and New York, for example, says there is no fee to claim. That is how Sparrow works: it finds the money and links you to the state’s claim page.
Not that its site describes. Claimio focuses on unclaimed property. Sparrow finds class action settlements you qualify for and files those claims for you.
