Cancel via iOS (Apple App Store)
If you started your Shopify plan through the Apple App Store:
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your Apple ID > Subscriptions.
- Select Shopify from the list.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Cancel via Android (Google Play)
If you subscribed through Google Play:
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
- Choose Shopify.
- Tap Cancel subscription and confirm.
Cancel inside the Shopify app (if applicable)
- Open the Shopify app.
- Go to Settings > Plan.
- Tap Deactivate store and confirm.
If you can’t cancel your Shopify subscription
- Partner-managed plan? Cancel via your reseller or billing partner (Shopify Plus partners).
- Trial users: Cancel by closing your store before the trial ends at Shopify Admin > Settings > Plan.
- App store billing: Cancel via Apple or Google, not Shopify.
- Check status: Review at Shopify Billing page.
What happens after you cancel
- Billing stops immediately or at the end of your billing period.
- Store data is retained for 2 years and can be reactivated anytime.
- Export your data via Settings > Export > Store data before closing.
- You can reopen your store by logging back into Shopify Admin and choosing a new plan.
Troubleshooting
- No Cancel option? You may not have full admin access or your billing is managed elsewhere.
- Didn’t get a confirmation email? Check spam or confirm closure in Settings > Plan.
- Refunds: Shopify generally does not offer refunds for partial billing periods.
