  • Where to cancel (Roku-billed): my.roku.com/subscriptions
  • Cutoff/notice: cancel before next renewal (no fixed “grace” window)
  • Refunds: generally no refund; you retain access until end of billing period
  • Access after cancel: you can keep using service until current term ends

How to cancel Roku subscriptions on desktop

  2. Under Active Subscriptions, locate the subscription you want to cancel.
  3. Click Manage Subscription (or similar) > Turn off auto-renew / Cancel.
  4. Confirm cancellation when prompted.
  5. Expect a confirmation email or check the “Expired/Inactive” section in your subscriptions list.

How to cancel Roku subscriptions on mobile

Steps are the same on desktop and mobile via browser (use my.roku.com) for Roku-billed subscriptions.

Cancel via iOS (Apple App Store)

  1. Open Settings on iPhone / iPad.
  2. Tap your Apple ID (your name) > Subscriptions.
  3. Find the Roku-related subscription.
  4. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.

Cancel via Android (Google Play)

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Tap your profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
  3. Select the Roku subscription.
  4. Tap Cancel subscription and confirm.

Cancel inside the Roku app (if supported)

  1. Open the Roku mobile app.
  2. Go to Account or Settings > Subscriptions.
  3. Tap Cancel subscription or Turn off auto-renew.
  4. Confirm via on-screen prompts.

Note: Some users report that the Roku app may not support cancellation for all subscriptions.

If you can’t cancel your Roku subscription

  • If your subscription was purchased outside Roku (direct via a streaming provider, cable, or third party), cancel via that provider’s website/app.
  • If it was purchased via Apple / Google, you must cancel through that store (see above).
  • Use Roku’s Contact Us / Account & Payments support route to dispute or ask for help: Roku’s support “Account, payments & subscriptions” section.
  • If your subscription does not appear in Roku’s list, you may have used a different email/account. Check the email associated with your Roku device (Home > Settings > System > About).

What happens after you cancel

  • Billing stops at next renewal; future auto-charges are disabled.
  • You retain service until the current term ends.
  • Roku typically does not issue refunds for partial unused time.
  • Your subscription data (e.g. preferences) may remain stored in Roku’s system; reactivation is usually instantaneous via my.roku.com or through the service again.
  • If you cancel a Roku account entirely, you must first cancel all active subscriptions.

Troubleshooting

  • No “Cancel” / “Manage” option: Likely the subscription is billed through Apple, Google, or a third party, not Roku.
  • No confirmation email: Check spam folder or your Roku account’s subscription status.
  • Still being billed after cancel: Contact Roku support via “Account & Payments → Question About a Charge.”
  • Regional differences: Roku’s subscription interface may vary by country; some regions require additional confirmation.

What are good Roku alternatives

  • Amazon Fire TV — strong Amazon ecosystem, app variety, from ~$30–$100.
  • Apple TV 4K — tight integration with iOS, premium interface, AirPlay support.
  • Google Chromecast with Google TV — compact, integrates with Google ecosystem.
  • Nvidia Shield TV — powerful, ideal for gaming + streaming.
  • Smart TVs with built-in OS (e.g. Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, Google TV) — eliminates need for external box.
